While a conventional laser cuts from individual sheets of sheet metal, the CPL3015B works with material in a coil. This fundamentally changes the logic of production. The material is unwound, straightened into the cutting section and then parts are produced from it in a continuous process.

This type of laser cutting center is suitable for large-scale production that is repeated. It has a great benefit where time is often a problem when loading sheets.

The GKS-CPL3015B model has a working area of ​​3000 × 1500 mm, laser power can be 1–6 kW, coil width 500–1500 mm and maximum coil weight 10 tons. Carbon steel can be processed in a thickness of 0.8–3 mm and stainless steel in a thickness of 0.8–2 mm. The material feed speed is 0–20 m/min.

The main advantage of this solution is smoothness. With a classic laser, production is regularly stopped due to sheet replacement. With a coil line, the goal is to keep the material moving and minimize non-productive time. This makes sense mainly for companies that produce a larger number of similar parts and are currently processing thinner sheets.
